John’s 20+ years of power sector experience includes thermal energy (gas turbine power trains), renewable energy (onshore & offshore wind), distributed energy resources (energy storage, green hydrogen, microgrids, and EV charging), and Smart Grid & Asset Management Programs.  John’s experience includes managing power plant overhauls, advising on the development of multi-billion-dollar offshore wind projects, facilitating corporate strategy plans, and leading cost reduction & asset optimization projects.  Currently John leads a team at Hatch responsible for helping utilities embrace the energy transition through resiliency planning, grid modernization, asset management, technology assessments, and general energy consulting services.  John holds an engineering degree from the University of Waterloo, a MBA from INSEAD, and is an affiliate member of the International Association of Asset Management.
